Ashley R. Geary concentrates her practice in physician contracting and regulatory compliance matters. She specializes in reviewing and negotiating vendor and employment contracts for clients; assisting clients in responding to audits from governmental and private payors; advising clients on the business implications of federal and state fraud and abuse laws such as the Anti-Kickback Statute and the Stark Law; assisting clients in maintaining compliance with payor quality programs such as Meaningful Use, PQRS and Value-Based Modifier; and developing effective HIPAA compliance manuals tailored to specific physician practice’s specialties and compliant with the applicable state law. She is also a member of Wade, Goldstein’s HIPAA Compliance Committee.
Ms. Geary graduated cum laude from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law with an honors distinction for her health law concentration. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Delaware. While attending law school, Ms. Geary served as the President of the Health Law Society and Moot Court. She gained legal experience through internships with the United States Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Office of General Counsel, and Duane Morris Health Law Group. During these internships, Ms. Geary delivered a presentation to Assistant U.S. Attorneys on the fraud and abuse concerns surrounding telemedicine and regularly participated in HIPAA Committee meetings.
